Hey, Hockey Mommies! Here we are, already about to start month two of hockey season. As if hectic schedules weren’t enough, it’s only going to pick up from here on out.
I often struggle to build and execute a meal plan, week to week. In that light, I am posting some ideas for this week. I often find myself figuring out quick day-of dinner options running to the grocery store to grab a few ingredients. So much for that few minutes of precious time, I hoped to have!
My trainer, Aubrey Miller, told me she plans her meals for the week on Sunday and posts them for her family. I decided to give this idea a try this summer.
I couldn’t imagine being that organized. But let me tell you, it has saved me so much time and money that I absolutely love it! I know some of you are already super organized when it comes to meal planning, but if it doesn’t come naturally to you, give this idea a try:
Weekly Meal Planning Guide
Here is your download for a weekly meal plan. It’s so convenient – you’ll even notice an area for the grocery list you will need! I love this!
I’ve found it incredibly helpful to create a folder with your weekly meal plans. That way, when you have a hectic week you can just pull a previous week and head to the grocery store!
Remember to be healthy! Protein, healthy fats and a carb!
During the meal planning process, think of the categories your family most enjoys:
- Breakfast for Dinner
- Meat Dishes
You may even want to leave a night for eating out or clean leftovers out the fridge.
Here are a few meal plan ideas to get you started! I can’t believe how organized this lady is, she has almost the whole year planned out!
Another thing I do is to search Pinterest for recipe ideas. I build the best ones into the weekly meal plans, and if the family likes them, they earn a coveted spot in the ‘favorites’ folder!
Have a great weekend everyone!
